Previous guest: Coreographer, performace artist and dancer Lotta Melin stayed at Creators Inn by Elvine while rehearsing a play at Atalante.

Designer Artur Moustafa is co-founder of Swedish furniture manufacturer Vujj but has recently focused on sustainability issues with his new company Able Global Solutions trying to gap the void between creatives and the eco-tech innovation sector. Artur stayed at the Creators Inn by Elvine lab while in Gothenburg to present at Pecha Kucha GBG vol. #10 at club Nefertiti.
You are trying to gap the void between creatives and the eco-tech innovation sector. How are you going about that and what do hope to gain as a result? We want eco-tekkies to see the benefits of teaming up with the creative sectors so that they can reach out to existing and emerging markets and compete with the same means as current flush and forget paradigm driven actors do.

Due to an enormous interest and response from all around the globe, we feel the need for the project to evolve. Creators Inn by Elvine is no longer a room or a certain physical space, but merely an idea and concept of creative hospitality that can be spread to other parts of the world for a limited period of time. We are currently experimenting with our second room in Gothenburg to see how the project can be packaged, exported and implemented in other cities besides Gothenburg, keeping a high standard of comfort and service. Please keep emailing us if you have any ideas or suggestions.

We got a brand new doormat that say a little more than “welcome.” This one says “Creators Inn by Elvine.”

Kenneth Courtney aka Ju$t Another Rich Kid runs this blog out of New York for people who know almost everything cool already. This is what he has to say about Creators Inn by Elvine:
“Not a shocking project for socially minded Swedes, but a bit prophetic given the current worldwide financial meltdown. / … / Not only do you get a free place to stay, but, given Gothenburg’s a hot bed of designers and artists, you’re guarateed to meet all the coolest people in town, which means getting all the ins on what to do and where to go. / … / So simple, so genius. Now for the rest of the world to follow suit, especially overpriced cities like New York, Tokyo, and London.”

It was our shortest stay so far. As a part of their kick-off, clothing brand Elvine’s staff dropped by an hour to experience their Creators Inn first hand, while enjoying some sparkling wine and signing the guestbook.

It should have been there from the start, but at least now it’s here: the guestbook. New improvements also include a new waste basket for dirty laundry and a new luggage rack pictured below.
Phil is a Belgian Dj/producer living in Hamburg who stayed at Creators Inn by Elvine while in Gothenburg to play at legendary night club Neferiti. He’s label manager at Finetunes and also starting up his own label called A room with a view.
We spoke to Phil about his close relationship to Gothenburg and the music scene here, where he mentioned artists like Hird, St Göran, Jor-El, Andreas Saag and Yukimi Nagano, and how staying at Creators Inn by Elvine made him feel like he had come full circle.

Previous guests. Patrick Sobieski, filmproducer and Peter Pontikis, writer/director stayed in the room while in Gothenburg to shoot scenes for their movie “Vampyrer” (”Not like others”).
You were in town shooting scenes for your vampire movie. How did that turn out?
Very well! Couldn’t be happier about it.

Publicity. Our press release is still in the writing, but news travel fast over the internet. Creators Inn by Elvine have already been mentioned on blogs, in newsletters and industry pages.
