Patrik Axén (SE)

Patrik Axén (SE) is a film producer from Elvine’s hometown of Gothenburg. He has just started a master program in Nordic co-production of film in Stockholm, and since we love collaborations and co-productions we arranged so that he could stay at Creators Inn by Elvine.

Who are you and what do you do? Do you consider yourself creative and if so, in what way?
My name is Patrik Axén and I work as a film producer at a small production company named Stavro based in Gothenburg. There is a joke that the only creatives in Hollywood are the accountants, but I live in Sweden and yes, I do consider myself creative. Both in an artistic but also in a problem-solving kind of way.

Do you consider yourself creative and if so, in what way?

Fredrik Nyberg (SE/DE)

In our Registration guidelines we write that “Foreign visitors are prioritized”. When opening the first Creators Inn by Elvine outside of our hometown of Gothenburg, we decided to change that to “Foreign visitors and creators from Gothenburg are prioritized” in order to support our local talents visiting the capital.

Fredrik Nyberg is one of those locals who got a chance to stay at Creators Inn by Elvine at Hotel Scandic Malmen in Stockholm. Even though he currently lives in Berlin he manages to produce one of the best clubs in Gothenburg. Read about that and his reason for visiting Stockholm below.

PMKFA (SE/JPN)

Multi-talented and Tokyo based Swede, Michael Thorsby aka PMKFA, stayed at the capsule version of Creators Inn by Elvine at LAT, while in Gothenburg to play records and showcase some animations at club Colors, Nefertiti. More pictures and a previously recorded video interview found after the jump.

Who is PMKFA and what do you do?
I’m a graphic designer and also co-founder of the graphic clothing label It’s Our Thing that operates out of Tokyo and Osaka.

You are based in Tokyo, but this was your first time staying in a “capsule hotel”. How was it, and what do you think about the Creators Inn by Elvine concept?
Yeah that felt funny, like crossing the river for water right, haha. I’ve always liked small spaces, more or less lived in small rooms all my life, in fact I always imagine how I would plan it when I enter a small space, like a toilet or storage etc. I draw up imaginary plans on where the sleeping area should be, office, cooking area etc, even when the place is 3-4 square meters. I can recommend it, at least it make visiting public toilets a bit more enjoyable.

The capsules at Creators Inn was first class! I was really impressed, clean, odd shapes (a plus) and enough space for everything needed to sleep well in there and I even managed to reach to work a bit from bed. The minus was that I was there so briefly, I only got to spend something like 5-6 hours there because of my rather tight schedule, very unfortunate. I was stoked though to stay where Scottie B had stayed just a week or to prior to my arrival, I could feel it in the walls, I felt that Bmore gutter feeling.

Rikard Jönsson (SE)

Rikard Jönsson (SE) is a DJ, artist, Pecha Kucha Ambassador (for the city of Malmö) and also a Product Development Coordinator at Spotify. He stayed at Creators Inn @ LAT while in Gothenburg to give a 6 minutes and 40 second long speech at Pecha Kucha GBG.

Do you consider yourself creative and if so, in what way?
For me, a spoiled young man from the northern part of europe, creativity and joy goes hand in hand. Since I do consider myself a very happy and confident person – I believe I can have a greater potential in unleashing my creativity. I have also yet again been reminded of how much more fun creativity is when your are more than one person, holism is really beautiful. Oh, and in what way? Well, my main area of interest is music and, for the moment, how to enhance a performance by implementing solutions that hopefully have not been done before. It’s not the means itself but rather to make an impression that last for both me and the audience that’s interesting. Until now I have been within many classical areas of culture but I tend to always come back to auditive creations.
